*SOCIAL DISTANCING:In order to allow social distancing in our classes we will unfortunately be able to allow ONLY 20 students per class😥, so register early to secure your spot!
*SANITIZING THE STUDIO: We will be scheduling time in between each class to sanitize the studio. Here is the new schedule:
Tuesday 3:30-4:25 (5th-7th grade boys)
Tuesday 4:30-5:25 (5th-7th grade girls)
Tuesday 5:30-6:25 (3rd-4th grade girls)
(Wednesday classes are the same as last year!)
Wednesday 10-10:45 AM (Pre-K boy/girl)
Wednesday 2:15-3:00 PM (Pre-K boy/girl)
Wednesday 3:15-4:00 PM (1st-2nd grade boy/girl)
Wednesday 4:15-5:00 PM (1st-2nd grade boy/girl)
Thursday 3:30-4:25 PM (3rd-4th grade boys)
Thursday 4:30-5:25 PM (3rd-4th grade girls)
Thursday 5:30-6:25 PM (5th-7th grade girls)
*MASKS: Masks are a decision for each individual family. They are not required, but encouraged if possible. Do what is best for your family. Our instructors will be wearing face shields so children can see faces and facial expressions.
*HAND SANITIZING: We will have the kids sanitize their hands upon entering the studio, exiting the studio, and in between class if needed.
*BATHROOM USAGE: In order to limit places for any sickness to spread, we ask that children go to the bathroom before class, if possible, so that the Smith bathroom can only be used for emergency bathroom needs. (We will never deny any child bathroom privileges if absolutely needed).
*SYMPTOMS OF ANY SICKNESS: If your child shows ANY signs of sickness, especially symptoms of COVID-19, KEEP THEM HOME PLEASE! (we will ALWAYS provide make-up classes).
*CONCERTS: There is a very real chance that we will not be able to hold our "traditional" concert this December. However, as a staff we are looking at ALL options for allowing your children to showcase what they are learning including holding many smaller concerts, having additional performances throughout the semester, and finding a different venue if the High School will not schedule. Things can change so rapidly so we will continue to keep you updated!
*CURRICULUM: Our curriculum will continue to include vocal instruction, ear training, rhythm, theater instruction, diction, movement, solo and ensemble opportunities, narration and speaking instruction, and a whole lot of fun! No matter what the outcome is with our concert situation, we know this: your child will be taught and given the opportunity to use everything about the performing arts, gain confidence, and learn tools that they will use for the rest of their lives!
*WHAT IF?: What if things must go back to where we were a few months ago? With so many questions about what going back to school will bring etc., we as a staff have made the decision that if we are asked to take a step back into the red zone and be quarantined again, we will be forced to suspend TaVaci classes until we can meet in person.
Thank you so much for your continued support through all of this! As we have discussed and pondered our plan, we came to a unified decision that our kids need something positive to focus on right now! We hope to BE and provide that "something positive"! ❤️
